Anitya (a-neet-ya)

My acupuncture practice draws inspiration from the ancient Sanskrit concept of impermanence, known as "Anitya." Anitya, a profound philosophical concept embraced by diverse religions and philosophies, beautifully encapsulates the idea that all phenomena are in a perpetual state of flux. Just as nature undergoes constant transformation, our bodies, too, are continuously influenced by both internal and external factors.

The question that arises is this: How do we discover and maintain our balance in the midst of an ever-changing body and environment?

Dr. Michelle Pereira, a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New York, is a dedicated specialist in pain management, midlife women's health issues, stress management, and Pelvic Floor Awareness. Her educational journey includes earning a doctorate and a master's degree with honors from the esteemed Pacific College of Health and Science. She is also a distinguished NCCAOM Diplomate of Acupuncture.

Michelle's expertise spans multiple acupuncture styles, including classical, TCM, neurofunctional acupuncture, trigger and motor point techniques. With advanced training in addressing Pelvic Floor Disorders and commonly reported symptoms associated with midlife women's health issues, she's well-equipped to handle a wide range of health concerns.

But it's not just her credentials that set her apart. Dr. Michelle Pereira is celebrated by her patients for her profound knowledge, boundless compassion, sense of humor, and unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care. When you choose Michelle as your acupuncturist, you're choosing a professional who genuinely cares about your well-being.

"I feel deeply humbled to have discovered a passion in my life – the privilege of walking alongside my patients on their path toward a life that's not just pain-free, but full and vibrant. At times, I'll admit to having a not-so-secret yearning for a simpler, pre-internet era. I cherish the moments spent in the company of genuine people rather than engaging in the relentless chatter of social networks.

To put it simply, I find myself captivated by the wisdom of the past and remain ever-optimistic about the boundless potential of the future, all while endeavoring to savor every moment of a rich and fulfilling present."

“If someone wishes for good health, one must first ask oneself if he is ready to do away with the reasons for his illness. Only then is it possible to help him.”
